'840' directed by Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui was released last Friday. Nasir Uddin Khan has come on screen as the central character Mayor Dablu. His performance in this role is being discussed on social media. Manjur Quader spoke to the actor on various topics including '840'
What do people you know who have seen the film say to you?
Nasir Uddin Khan: Someone said it was great, it was a blast, meaning they were praising it. They praised the dialogue. In fact, the dialogue in '840' is excellent. There was a dialogue about politics, 'Politics is a very bad thing, here you have to make a pillow out of pythons and sleep with them.' Many people are also making negative comments on Facebook posts.

It is being said that '840' is a double-up of the 17-year-old serial '420'. Mosharraf Karim and Lutfar Rahman George played the two central characters in '420'. After the trailer of '840' was released, many people searched for the two actors on social media...
Nasir Uddin Khan: This has also come to my attention. I really liked it. From this, I understood how much emotion the audience has with '420', how much they liked the series. But it is not at all that the audience hates or dislikes me. Rather, it has revealed their love for '420' and its crew. I hope they will like '840' too.
You are an actor and a conscious person. How did you feel when you saw '840' in theaters as an audience?
Nasir Uddin Khan: I liked it very much. I always think that if politicians only do politics with honesty, then the face of the country will change. So I thought that if politicians see '840', then they will definitely be careful about many things, not only for themselves, but also for the people. If you cannot respect the people, if you cannot love them, if you cannot understand the suffering of the people, you will not be able to win their hearts even if you give everything.
Prothom Alo :
Who else besides you liked your performance in '840'? Why?
Nasir Uddin Khan: Shahriar Nazim Joy and Zayed Khan. I know many people are laughing their heads off. If you don't believe me, come watch '840'.

Director Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui said in his words, '840' is an X-ray report of the Awami League's misrule. Did you know this as the lead actor?
Nasir Uddin Khan: I didn't know as much as I had seen in the movie. But I have seen the character of Mayor Dablu in people from all parties. We saw in '840' what happens when people of this character are in power for a long time.
The director said it's a political satire. Out of all the works you've acted in that have been shown, where would you rank this one?
Nasir Uddin Khan: I will put '840' above all as a political satire. It is a work that I like for various reasons. Starting from the director, many of the co-stars are my acquaintances, and I have met many of them again on the set. But at the end of the day, I felt like they were all soulmates. Farooqui Bhai is great. During the shooting, I saw that Marjuk Russell, Ashutosh Sujan, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Nader Khan, Shahriar Nazim Joy, Mom, Bijri Barkatullah and everyone else, Farooqui Bhai arranged everything in such a way that it was very convenient to do the work. It became easy. When I first worked with Farooqui Bhai, I felt that the work was relatively less difficult. He himself taught me many techniques. He also gave me a lot of analysis of many characters.
